Forward IT offers an automated and robust offsite automated
backup service "RAB" to ensure your critical corporate data is copied
overnight to a secure location.
How "RAB" works:
An initial onsite full backup of the data is made and then copied to the Remote Automated Backup Server (RABS). Each week night any changes to your daily data "deltas" are compressed and copied remotely over a VPN 128bit encrypted tunnel to the Online Backup Server SAN disk repository. The "deltas" are usually 5% of your data storage, so only minimal data is copied over your Internet link. Backups are kept on the SAN disk repository for a total of 14 days before being overwritten. The client can elect to move the backups from the disk repository to tape media for a longer retention period. Features:
